Which muscle has spindle shaped cell?
Rachel Ellis Smooth muscle cells are spindle shaped, have a single, centrally located nucleus, and lack striations. They are called Smooth muscle - Wikipedia
Which cell has a spindle shape?
Muscle cells are the spindle-shaped cells found in the human body. They have a spindle shape because they control the human body's contraction and relaxation. The connective tissues encircle these cells.
What muscle has short spindle shaped cells?
smooth muscle, also called involuntary muscle, muscle that shows no cross stripes under microscopic magnification. It consists of narrow spindle-shaped cells with a single, centrally located nucleus.
Why muscle cells are spindle shaped?
Muscle cells are spindle shaped because it help them to align properly over one another and also it make easy for them to contract and relax while movement of the body parts.
Which muscle cells are tapered or spindle shaped?
Smooth muscle fibers are spindle-shaped (wide in the middle and tapered at both ends, somewhat like a football) and have a single nucleus; they range from about 30 to 200 μm (thousands of times shorter than skeletal muscle fibers), and they produce their own connective tissue, endomysium.

25 related questions foundIs cardiac muscle spindle shaped?
Cardiac muscle cells are located in the walls of the heart, appear striped (striated), and are under involuntary control. Smooth muscle fibers are located in walls of hollow visceral organs (such as the liver, pancreas, and intestines), except the heart, appear spindle-shaped, and are also under involuntary control.
What is a spindle shape?
Definition. adjective. Having a shape like a spindle, that is being wide in the middle then tapering at both ends.
Which muscular cells are spindle shaped and Uninucleate?
Hint:The spindle-shaped, uninucleate, unbranched and involuntary cells are characteristic features of smooth muscle. There are three types of muscles in the body such as: Smooth muscle, Skeletal muscle and Cardiac muscle with its specific characteristics respectively.
What is shape of muscle cell?
The muscle cells are spindle-shaped, RBCs are spherical while nerve cells are long and branched.
In which part of body spindle shape cells are present?
Smooth muscle cells are spindle shaped. These are found in stomach lining, blood vessels, urinary bladder, respiratory tract and also uterus.
Which muscles are elongated spindle shape with single nucleus?
Since it is not under conscious control, smooth muscle is involuntary muscle. Smooth muscle fibers are elongated spindle-shaped cells with a single nucleus. In general, they are much shorter than skeletal muscle cells. The nucleus is located centrally and the sarcoplasm is filled with fibrils.
Which muscles are smooth muscles?
Smooth muscle is found in the walls of hollow organs, including the stomach, intestines, bladder and uterus; in the walls of passageways, such as blood, and lymph vessels, and in the tracts of the respiratory, urinary, and reproductive systems.
Is vegetative cell spindle shaped?
Vegetative cell has an irregularly shaped nucleus, and the generative cell is spindle-shaped with dense cytoplasm & nucleus. Vegetative cell is also termed as Tube cell as it is responsible for growth of pollen tube.
What is the shape of a cardiac muscle cell?
Viewed through a microscope, cardiac muscle cells are roughly rectangular, measuring 100–150μm by 30–40μm. Individual cardiac muscle cells are joined together at their ends by intercalated discs to form long fibers.
Why are muscle cells shaped the way they are?
Skeletal muscle cells are arranged in bundles of linear fibers. A single muscle cell is elongated in shape, containing within it many myofibrils. ... The elongated shape of muscle cells allows the contraction proteins to line up in an overlapping pattern that makes muscle flexing possible.
What is the shape of nerve cell?
Nerve cells are usually shaped like branched trees. From the round, pyramidal or spindle-shaped cell body, the dendrites branch out like the top of a tree and the single axon travels out like the trunk.
What is the shape of muscle cell class 8?
Muscle cell bring about movement of body parts by contracting and relaxing. They are rectangular in shape. They form a thin layer over the body parts and protect the cells below them from injury. They are spherical in shape.
Are skeletal muscle cells Uninucleate?
Skeletal muscle fibers are multinucleate cells containing striated, thread-like myofibrils, which run the entire length of the muscle fiber and can be seen by light microscopy. Skeletal muscle is a form of striated (answer A) muscle tissue that is attached to bones by tendons.
Is skeletal muscle Uninucleate or Multinucleate?
Skeletal muscle fibers are multinucleate because they are sincitios. I mean, every muscle fiber is formed by the fusion of many cells (myoblasts). Including the relevant information the others said before. Skeletal muscle cells arise in embryo as uninucleated entities.
What are striped muscles?
Any voluntary muscle, capable of fast contraction, composed of long myofibrils that have many nuclei and are transversely striped by alternating bands of myosin and actin, including all skeletal muscles. ... Also called striated muscle or voluntary muscle (excluding cardiac muscle).
What are spindle cells?
Spindle cells are specialized cells that are longer than they are wide. They are found both in normal, healthy tissue and in tumours. The most common type of normal spindle cell is called a fibroblast. Fibroblasts are support cells that are found in a type of connective tissue called stroma.
What is a spindle shaped root?
A spindle-shaped (fusiform) root is a root that tapers at the top and at the bottom, For example the taproot of a white radish. Spindle-shaped leaf [ Botany ] Synonym: Fusiform leaf.
What are spindles?
spindle- a rounded rod, usually of wood, tapering toward each end, used in hand-spinning to twist into thread the fibers drawn from the mass on the distaff, and on which the thread is wound as it is spun.
- the rod on a spinning wheel by which the thread is twisted and on which it is wound.
