Of minute or microscopical structure; of or pertaining to micro-structure.

What do you call someone you want to marry?

Fiancé or fiancée? ... These two words are borrowed directly from French, in which language they have equivalent but gendered meanings: fiancé refers to a man who is engaged to be married, and fiancée refers to a woman.

What does the term microstructure mean?

Microstructure are material structures seen at the micro level. Specifically, they are structures of an object, organism, or material as revealed by a microscope at magnifications greater than 25 times. When typically mentioned, the microstructure are defects, impurities, grains, and grain boundary.

What does Macrostructural mean?

: the structure (as of metal, a body part, or the soil) revealed by visual examination with little or no magnification.

How do microstructures form?

Microstructures are almost always generated when a material undergoes a phase transformation brought about by changing temperature and/or pressure (e.g. a melt crystallising to a solid on cooling). Microstructures can be created through deformation or processing of the material (e.g. rolling, pressing, welding).

What are microstructures in sociology?

Microstructure is the pattern of relations between most basic elements of social life, that cannot be further divided and have no social structure of their own (for example, pattern of relations between individuals in a group composed of individuals - where individuals have no social structure, or a structure of ...

What are microstructures in steel?

Microstructure is the very small scale structure of a material, defined as the structure of a prepared surface of material as revealed by an optical microscope above 25× magnification.

What is macrostructure and microstructure?

As nouns the difference between macrostructure and microstructure. is that macrostructure is the gross structure of a material or tissue as visible to the unaided eye or at very low levels of magnification while microstructure is the fine structure of a material or tissue as revealed by microscopy.

What is the macro world?

Filters. A world or reality on a larger scale, thus for example the social scale when discussing individual affairs, or the human scale when discussing particle physics. noun.

What is narrative macrostructure?

Narrative macrostructure refers to the overall coherence and organization of the narrative. ... Measurements of mean length of utterance (MLU), NDW (number of different words), and narrative assessment protocol score (NAP; Justice, Bowles, Pence & Gosse, 2010) can be used to analyze the microstructure of narratives.

What is microstructure observation?

2.1 The Microstructure Observation Method. Observing the microstructure of self-sensing concrete is a commonly used method to evaluate the mixing/dispersing uniformity of composites (as shown in Figure 3.8). Observation equipment often used includes a scanning electron microscope (SEM) and optical microscope.

What are grains in microstructure?

The grains in a microstructure represent individual crystals within the polycrystalline material (Figure 1.2). Within each grain, atoms are regularly arranged according to the basic crystal structure but a variety of imperfections, termed crystal defects, may also occur.

What are the types of microstructure?

• Microstructures of sand grains.
• Single grains. Almost entirely formed of sand grains, without, or with very little, fine material between the grains. ...
• Bridged grains. Sand grains joined by bridges of fine material.
• Pellicular grains. ...
• Intergrain vesicles. ...
• Intergrain channels. ...
• Compact grains.

What do I call my engaged girlfriend?

A fiancée is a woman engaged to be married.

What fiancé means?

These two words are borrowed directly from French, in which language they have equivalent but gendered meanings: fiancé refers to a man who is engaged to be married, and fiancée refers to a woman.

What a divorced man called?

A divorcee is someone who is divorced.

What is quantum theory in psychology?

Quantum cognition is a new research program that uses mathematical principles from quantum theory as a framework to explain human cognition, including judgment and decision making, concepts, reasoning, memory, and perception. This research is not concerned with whether the brain is a quantum computer.

What is quantum theory?

Quantum theory is the theoretical basis of modern physics that explains the nature and behavior of matter and energy on the atomic and subatomic level. The nature and behavior of matter and energy at that level is sometimes referred to as quantum physics and quantum mechanics.

What is the difference between macro and microstructural observations in pure aluminum?

Macro-study is performed with naked eye or with low magnification to study the surface defects of an material, whereas microstructural study is to identify the type of structure, grain size, distribution of particles, grain boundaries etc.

What is Macrostructure of a material?

[¦mak·rō′strək·chər] (metallurgy) Structure of an etched metal visible to the naked eye or at magnifications up to 10 diameters.

What is Macrostructure in public speaking?

Macro-structure refers to those features of the message (written or oral) which focus and organize the whole of the speech or essay. Macro-structure involves your overall strategy for the message.

Why is white cast iron called white?

White cast iron is named after its white surface when fractured due to its carbide impurities, which allow cracks to pass straight through.

Is ferrite a microstructure?

Ferrite is a microstructural phase that is soft, ductile, and similar to pure iron. There is a limit on how much carbon can fit in the gaps in the ferrite structure: 0.02 percent carbon at 1,340 degrees F (725 degrees C), but dropping to 0.006 percent (60 PPM) carbon at room temperature.

What is the hardest microstructure?

Martensite: the hardest and strongest microstructure, yet the most brittle.

What is Microsociological and its example?

Microsocioloy involves studying small groups or subdivisions of the population. Study B is an example of microsociology because it examines the daily interactions between two segments of the population: parents and their children.
